Service Center von Shanghai General Motors im Deutschen Industriepark

 

Established in June, 1997, Shanghai General Motors (SGM) is a 50-50 joint venture partnership between General Motors and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (Group). SGM has 3 production bases in Jinqiao, Yantai and Shenyang, including 4 complete-vehicle manufacturing factories and 2 power assembly factories. With an annual output of about 600,000 vehicles, SGM stands in a leading position among domestic automotive corporations. In 2006, SGM sold 413,367 vehicles, leading all the domestic passenger vehicle manufacturers. SGM is the first manufacturer, whose annual output exceeds 400,000 in 8 years after its establishment.

In order to improve its production ability and quality of product, SGM started to implement a “my SAP Auto” system in 2004. This system could integrate a big amount of production logistics operations, making logistics procedures, such as goods taking and delivery, inventory transfers, stock taking and the packing, container treatment inside the warehouse, combined seamless with the core plan and the purchase procedure of the corporation. It replaced the original WMS, strengthened its control to the service supplies, promoted the inventory turns and the production efficiency and reduced the idle cost, realizing the visible management of the supply chain of spare parts. After careful and thorough study and review, SGM decided to choose Shanghai Pudong Kangqiao Industrial Zone German Industrial Park to set up its new Automotive Service Centre.

Shanghai Pudong Kangqiao Industrial Zone is a municipal lever industrial zone. GERMAN INDUSTRIAL PARK is a project developed cooperatively by Shanghai DAKS Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd. and Kangqiao Industrial Zone Administration Committee. GERMAN INDUSTRIAL PARK has a preferential geographical location and convenient transportation access, making itself a first choice for modern production service industry. The target lot is close to A20, A1, A2 and A3 roads, only about 10 km away from SGM Jinqiao factory.

This project is constructed cooperatively by SGM and High-tech Base (Shanghai) Machinery Industry Co., Ltd. The total land area is about 130,000 m2, and the total building area reaches 70,000 m2. This project is planned to be complete at the beginning of 2009, and it will be the largest and most advanced Automotive Service Centre of SGM in China.
