Investment Environment Symposium of Kangqiao Ind. Zone Pudong

 

On January 23rd, BUILDING HEADQUARTERS BASE – DEVELOPING SERVICE ECONOMY ”-2007 Shanghai Pudong Kangqiao Industrial Zone Investment Environment Symposium took place at Shanghai International Convention Center. It was celebrated by Administration Committee of Shanghai Pudong Kangqiao Industrial Zone and Shanghai Foreign Investment Development Board with Shanghai DAKS Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd., University of Science and Technology of China, and China Telecom.

Leaders from relevant departments of Shanghai and Nanhui Government, famous enterprises from both abroad and home, Consulates in Shanghai of different countries and business organizations were present. Mrs. Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Governor of Nanhui District, chaired the symposium. Mr. Zhou Yupeng, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shanghai and Deputy Mayer of Shanghai Municipality, attended this symposium and delivered a speech. He commended the efforts and achievements Kangqiao Industrial Zone made in greatly developing advanced manufactory industry and modern service industry. He also expressed his appreciation of the enforcement and implementing “Four First” Policy to Kangqiao Industrial Zone. Mr. Zhou Yupeng encouraged Kangqiao Industrial Zone to take the good opportunity in order to make more and more achievements.

Mr. Werner Koch, Board Chairman of Shanghai DAKS Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd., delivered a speech as an enterprise representative. He made a summary on the development achievements of GERMAN INDUSTRIAL PARK in 2006, and he also predicted the prospects for the GERMAN INDUSTRIAL PARK in future.

With the confirmation of the strategic priority of developing modern service industry and with the function positioning of “Building Headquarters Economy, Developing Service Economy” by Kangqiao Industrial Zone, it is essential for GERMAN INDUSTRIALl PARK to develop Headquarters economy and R & D industrial series. Shanghai DAKS will in future preferably attract those enterprises in order to respect the New Target of Investment Policy and achieved Character of Kangqiao Industrial Zone. Given the new investment policies and development opportunities, GERMAN INDUSTIRAL PARK will cooperate closer with Government and Administration in order to support achievements for both, Government and enterprises.

At the Symposium, 21 projects of famous enterprises were signed, with a total investment volume of 1.25 billion USD and 2.1 billion RMB. 9 Foreign Invested Projects in GERMAN INDUSTRIAL PARK were signed with enterprises from Germany, Canada, USA, Australia, Britain, and Hongkong and business scopes from automobile spare parts, electronics, eco-friendly technology to logistic warehouse. The total foreign investment amounts to 230 million USD in 2006. With its good investment environment, GERMAN INDUSTRIAL PARK will continue attracting Hi-Tech enterprises. For the remaining land in GERMAN INDUSTRIAL PARK, Shanghai DAKS will focus more on attracting Headquarters, Industrial Service, Research, Development, and Professional Training.
